Those who’ve read July's End with Black Swans and A Godsacre for Winds of the Soul are aware of the abject fact that there is no history of an ancient culture that is not defiled by and confounded with mythology. The Guelphs are the faction that supported the Pope in a struggle against the Ghibellines and the Holy Roman Emperor. Basically, the idea of the Guelphs translated into the Black Nobility centuries later. According to Wiki, these families still exist and include the Colonna, Massimo, Orsini, Ruspoli, Pallavicini, Theodoli, Sacchetti, Borghese, Odeschalchi, and Boncompagni-Ludovisi. Wiki also claims “major extinct Papal families include the Savelli, Caetani (or Gaetani), the Aldobrandini and Conti.” I’m not sure what is meant by this, as there are still people alive from these families. My second great grandmother was Giovanna Conti. Even though I don’t bear that name, the descendants are alive and well all over the world.

An account from Mahmut regarding the Guelphs parallels with astrotheology, and prior to that he mentioned a bizarre birth that corresponds to alchemy (Rebis/Great Work symbolism). I’ll leave it to you to decide if it’s authentic or if its an encoded message.

If you’re unfamiliar with alchemical and religious symbolism, the Spirit Whirled series will empower you.
