Two mythological heroes play a game that decides the fate of the Mediterranean. The victor gets to return to this world, where the Etrusco-Phoenician Empire fights to maintain its maritime dominance and thwart imperialism from the Greeks, who expand westward to insulate themselves from the Achaemenids.
